We all understand that water needs to be cleaned before we use it to hydrate ourselves, cook for our families, or bath. It is essential to life, but as it is most available in nature, it requires several levels of filtration, purification, and processing in order to be clean when it reaches your home. When you see clear water flowing out of your faucets, filling your baths, and filling your drinking glass, do you know what it went through to get there? No one would normally look at a nearby river or lake and thin that the water looks, smells, or could possibly taste refreshing or appealing in any way. You would never scoop any of it and drink it; it would make you ill because the waste from various animals, chemicals, and other industrial centrifugal blower pollutants haven't been removed yet. This process is called water filtration.

Water filtration is a necessity in the process of getting a natural water source to the clean state of drinkability. The steps are called coagulation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection and storage. First, during coagulation and sedimentation chemicals are used to make the weigh the particles therein in order to help them settle out. Second is filtration which is where the water is combed through sand and charcoal to extract finer particles. Third, bacteria and microorganisms are chemically treated for safe removal. Last, the water is stored for later dispersion to the community that water filtration system serves. Storage is required because it cannot be cleaned as needed or there would be a regular shortage. Water filtration, as is the case with all substances used in or on the body, is a necessity of healthy living.

 It is natural for the local river or lake to become polluted with human, animal, manufacturing byproduct waste, but it would be lethal if ingested straight away. There is a limited supply of pure water and it is frozen in polar caps, glaciers and floating ice bergs. The rest of the water that heavily populated metropolises and small towns depend on must be recycled from rain water to bodies of water to processing for purified use. Water filtration is not the same as the process that your grocery store water purifier. It is for larger quantities of water and larger scale impurity removal for large quantities of people. Further clarification of the water can be performed for commercial or residential buildings or within a home's installed filtering system. Yet, water for cooking and cleaning can be used right out of the local storage and out of your pipes.
